Prepare to be amazed as we dive into the incredible story of Shane van Gisbergen and his awe-inspiring NASCAR tribute!
Shane, a proud Kiwi, has left us all in awe with his latest NASCAR Cup race car design, a true tribute to his roots. The car, a masterpiece in itself, features the iconic silver fern, a symbol of New Zealand, adorning its wrap, along with the southern cross and several red stars. It's a sight to behold, and Shane's excitement is palpable.
"I'm incredibly grateful to have had a say in the design process, thanks to our friends at Jockey. Going with a New Zealand-themed car was an obvious choice for me. The silver fern looks amazing, and the car is just so cool! I'm a little biased, but I think it's tough and represents my country beautifully. I was speechless when I first saw it," Shane shared in a video posted by Trackhouse Racing.
And he has every reason to be proud! Shane, who was unfortunately eliminated from the NASCAR Cup playoffs in the Round of 16, is currently sitting at 12th in the championship standings. But his season has been nothing short of remarkable, with an impressive five wins, including a dominant victory at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, where he crossed the finish line a whopping 15 seconds ahead of the pack. This ties him with Denny Hamlin for the most wins this year.
While all his wins have come on road courses, Shane recently proved his mettle on ovals too, securing his first top ten finish at Kansas Speedway. And if that wasn't enough, SVG has also clinched the 2025 NASCAR Cup Rookie of the Year honors. Talk about a rookie sensation!
Now, here's where it gets interesting. The last time the Cup Series visited Vegas, SVG started 28th and finished 34th after an unfortunate crash. But with his impressive progress on ovals, it's safe to say that Shane is poised for a much better result this weekend. Will he continue his winning streak? Only time will tell.
So, what do you think of Shane's NASCAR tribute? Do you think he'll dominate the Vegas race? Let us know in the comments! We'd love to hear your thoughts and predictions!
